Associate Minister, church of Christ in Handley Doug has been at Handley since May 1978. He graduated from Lubbock Christian College in 1976 with a BA in Bible. Doug and wife Sherri have three children, all raised at the Handley congregation, ages 17, 23 and 25. Doug's duties at Handley include teaching teens and adults Bible classes, directing the youth ministry, directing Vacation Bible School, maintaining the pictorial membership directory, song leading (rotates with 3 others), counseling & teaching at summer camp (2 sessions each year), helping to coordinate local evangelistic outreach, directing the annual "sweetheart banquet" for ages 60+, hosting area-wide Bible Quiz each school year, and preaching one or more times per month. Doug is often in demand as a song leader and speaker at area congregations, and at Summer Youth Series meetings. Doug enjoys gardening, fishing and the great outdoors, carpentry, woodworking, and motorcycling. |
